2013-12-23: Information Station Column

If you were given the gift of a new tablet this year, we want you to know that we are here to help you find out what the library has to offer you!  We have so many great things you can download with your tablet – audiobooks on Wilbor or One Click; downloadable ebooks on Wilbor, One Click, or 3M; magazines on Zinio; music on Freegal; fun children’s books on Tumblebooks; language-learning programs on Mango, and more!  We do not want you to miss any of them!!  You can stop in anytime and get one-on-one help or we have a night called Tech Talk Thursday JUST for people who would like help with their tablets/phones/devices.  Our next Tech Talk Thursday is Thurs., Jan. 16 at 7 pm and it is open to anyone.  If you are interested in coming, just make sure your device is set up, charged and ready to go, oh and don’t forget your library card – you WILL need that!  You can join us for this evening where we spend time helping you get all you can out of your device. We can help you download the apps so that you can access these free resources, and then we will walk you through how to use them.

If you did not get an ereader, but you would like to read an ebook – we have 3M ereaders for checkout!  Stop in, we can help you get the book you’d like downloaded to the reader, and then you may take it home to read.  It is slick and easy and just may get you a book faster if our physical copy is checked out!  There are so many great ways to read now, and we can help you find them.
